We are recruiting 2 full-time Psychiatrist Consultants who are motivated, enthusiastic, and highly professional and ready to integrate and be part of a team delivering quality equity-focused mental health care at one of the largest hospitals in the North Island of New Zealand.
This role provides clinical leadership for our acute community team and can contribute to policy, procedure, and service development, and support the team through the next stages of health sector reform. The Consultant Psychiatrist will act as a role model for high standards of care by supporting an environment where excellence can flourish.
You will demonstrate a genuine commitment to the people whom we serve, within the diverse and culturally rich community. The successful candidate will demonstrate, excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and possess honesty, integrity, and professionalism. You will need to have the ability to promote teamwork and navigate through the challenges of providing complex care to patients with complex presentations, by promoting a strong team culture and function, and a genuine focus on equitable health systems and outcomes.
To apply for this role you must be eligible for Vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ in the scope of Psychiatry and a current APC is essential.
Consultant Psychiatrists who are deemed eligible for special purpose locum tenens registration with the Medical Council of NZ are also of interest for locum placements of three months or more, whilst the permanent cover is sought.
