Young 125-bed hospital that was started 7 years ago to meet the unique challenges and fill the tremendous need of delivering high quality specialty care within our remote island home. You will be supported by a team of respiratory therapists, backed by advanced diagnostic tools.

Summary of Job Duties and Tasks:

* Responsible for evaluating and treating pulmonary conditions on an inpatient and outpatient basis. * Provides direct care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and the performance of medical procedures (within the scope of practice as a pulmonologist). * Conducts daily hospital rounds on all patients referred to the service. * Examines patients, obtains medical histories, performs and interprets diagnostic tests, and documents all services in patient’s medical record. * Coordinates with hospital medical practitioners, departments, and administration to ensure high quality and effective patient care. * Communicates, consults, and collaborates with all physicians, the interdisciplinary team, and other healthcare personnel reviewing patients’ progress and variances, and ensures a timely hospital discharge. * Converses daily with families, referring physicians, other specialists, administration, and hospital departments in the care and treatment of patients referred to the service. * Provides distinctive, personalized care and services by listening, anticipating, and responding to the needs of internal staff and referring physicians/specialists. * Exceeds patient expectations by providing empathetic bedside manners. * Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and their families. * Ensures that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate, and complete, and compliant with office, hospital, and government entities. * Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding, and CPT code assignment….
