Job Summary:
The Consultant Interventional Radiologist will provide high-quality diagnostic and minimally invasive image-guided interventional procedures in accordance with international best practices and UAE healthcare regulations. The role involves clinical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, patient management, and contribution to service development within the Radiology Department.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
Perform a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, including:
- Vascular and non-vascular interventions
- Angiography and embolization
- Image-guided biopsies and drainages
- Tumor ablation procedures
- Peripheral and central vascular interventions
- Interventional oncology procedures
- Interpret imaging studies (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy).
- Provide expert consultations and second opinions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings (oncology, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and infection control standards.
Patient Care - Assess patients pre- and post-procedure.
- Obtain informed consent and explain procedures and risks clearly.
- Manage complications and provide follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
Leadership & Quality - Contribute to department strategy and service expansion.
- Supervise and mentor junior radiologists, residents, and technologists.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain adherence to UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
Qualifications & Requirements (US Trained Physicians)
Education & Training
- MD or DO from an accredited US medical school
- Completion of ACGME-accredited Radiology Residency
- Fellowship in Interventional Radiology (ACGME-accredited)
- Board Certification in Diagnostic and/or Interventional Radiology from the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
- Current or recent US clinical practice in a tertiary or high-volume center
