🏥 About Cork University Hospital
Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest Model 4 tertiary referral centre in the South West of Ireland. The hospital delivers comprehensive paediatric services, including specialist neurology care for children with complex neurological conditions such as epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and headache syndromes.
CUH has strong academic links with University College Cork (UCC), supporting education, research, and ongoing service development in paediatric neurology. The service covers a large regional catchment, offering consultants the opportunity to make a meaningful clinical and strategic impact.
🧠 Key Responsibilities
-Provide consultant-level paediatric neurology care for children and adolescents.
-Lead the assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic neurological conditions.
-Deliver inpatient, outpatient, and multidisciplinary paediatric neurology services.
-Lead and participate in MDT clinics, ward rounds, and outpatient services.
-Supervise and mentor NCHDs, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
-Contribute to audit, quality improvement, research, and service development.
-Collaborate with paediatrics, neurophysiology, rehabilitation, and allied services.
✅ Essential Requirements
-Eligibility for Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
-Specialist training and experience in Paediatric Neurology.
-Demonstrated leadership, teaching experience.
💶 Salary
€233,000 – €280,000 per annum
