You’ll join a collaborative MDT committed to continuity of care, home-based support, and integrated pathways across primary care, neurology, geriatric medicine, and acute hospitals.
What you can expect:
💶 €233,527 – €280,513 Consultant Salary (Public Only Contract 2023)
💼 €11,015 On-call Allowance
🧠 €12,000 CME funding annually
🔬 €8,000 Research & Innovation Fund
🕒 37,hour workweek
🌴 30 days annual leave + 10 public holidays

What the team is looking for:
This role requires a Consultant who is Specialist-trained in Old Age Psychiatry.
The ideal candidate will have:
✅ IMC Specialist Registration (or eligibility) in Psychiatry
➡️ With recognised Specialist Training in Old Age Psychiatry
✅ Experience managing complex presentations in older adults
✅ Commitment to community-based care pathways and collaborative MDT practice
✅ Ability to travel within the region for satellite clinics

• Total regional population served: 100,000+
• Older adult population (65+): ~18–20% , higher than national levels
• Key presentations: dementia, mood disorders, psychosis, behavioural disturbance, and high medical comorbidity
• Strong MDT support: psychology, nursing, social work, OT, physio
• Integrated networks with geriatric medicine, neurology, and primary care
