About the Opportunity
Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) in Sydney, Nova Scotia is seeking full time and part time Hospitalist’s to join their team. There is opportunity for applicants to engage in research and/ or have medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University, should that be of interest.
CBRH has 7 hospitalist lines. Patients are spread across several units in the hospital and are composed of medical patients outside of the ICU. If you are interested in a broader scope of practice that includes, but is not limited to hospitalist work, there are many possible opportunities in Sydney and surrounding communities.

Duties include full scope of practice as a hospitalist providing care to patients within Cape Breton and participating in call, Physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head of Family Practice for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
License and Eligibility
Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS), eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)and hold membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Cardiac Life Support are also requirements.
Remuneration options include a daily rate, with an estimated annual salary of $250,000-300,000. In addition, call stipends and other incentives are available through the Master Agreement between the Province of Nova Scotia and Doctors Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia Health offers a comprehensive site visit program and will cover eligible relocation expenses. Virtual and in-person site visits are available. The Department of Health & Wellness offers competitive incentive program.
