Darwin is a flourishing, multifaceted city, perched at the tip of Australia and is the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory. With a population just shy of 150,000, Darwin sits closer to Asia than it does Sydney and is home to some of Australia’s most striking natural scenery.
Darwin’s tropical climate creates the perfect atmosphere for wining and dining and its coastal location and proximity to Asia have influences on the local dining and culture. Darwin hosts nightclubs, a casino, theatres, restaurants, and multi-cultural markets that are internationally famous.
There is a waterfront precinct with waterfront restaurants, shops, safe swimming lagoons for all the family, outdoor cinema and harbour cruises.
If you’re looking for the great outdoors, Darwin has it all: beaches, parks, springs, hiking, diving, and natural wonder in every form. Darwin has great beaches close to the city and for those times when you can’t go in the water there is plenty of popular freshwater swimming spots nearby, such as Howard Springs, Berry Springs and Manton Dam.

What Head Medical can do for you
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK’s specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.
Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
