A Southern Tertiary Hospital located in the South Island of New Zealand is seeking a locum Psychiatrist to join their Community Mental Health Team. This is a fixed-term role that ideally would suit someone who can work for a 3 to 6-month period. The preferred start date would be at the end of February 2023. Note the ability to work across another rural hospital in the region may also be required.
The tertiary hospital for the lower part of the South Island (inclusive of Southland – provides tertiary services for a combined catchment of 289,000) and is home to all specialities plus a broad array of sub-specialities.
The hospital includes Intensive Care, Neo-natal Intensive Care, and Coronary Care Units, eight main operating and two-day surgery theatres. The hospital also operates a regional helicopter retrieval service and has modern radiology services, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and interventional radiology. Specialised psychiatric hospital services and services for people with intellectual or physical disabilities are provided at a separate hospital close by.
Salary and Remuneration package to be discussed, as the role is a locum position/or fixed term remuneration the pay scale will differ.
