Anatomical Pathologist- St. John’s, Newfoundland
Seeking Multiple sub-specialties in Gynecological, Head & Neck, Lung & Breast
Our clients Laboratory Medicine Program is seeking multiple full-time, permanent Anatomical Pathologists with subspecialty expertise in any of the following areas, dermatopathology, gynecological, head and neck, lung and lymphomas.
Our client is the largest integrated health organization in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) and is accredited with exemplary standing, the highest possible rating, from Accreditation Canada. It employs over 13,000 employees, provides services to a regional population of more than 300,000 and is responsible for provincial tertiary health services.
The successful candidate will join a group of 16 pathologists, medical microbiologists and clinical chemists providing hospital laboratory services. Our laboratory currently processes approximately 40,000 surgical pathology specimens per year. On-call coverage is required and shared equitably within the group. The Health Science Centre is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University.
Through strong formal affiliations with Memorial University, and on the recommendation of the Discipline Chair, the successful candidates may be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment in the Academic Department of Laboratory Medicine and may be expected to participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship (ie: teaching). The ideal candidates will join a dynamic and enthusiastic team and will be expected to have strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills in order to function as consultants to clinicians, laboratory and academic staff
- · Medical Degree with specialist training in Anatomical Pathology
- · Subspecialty training in dermatopathology, gynecological, head and neck, lung and lymphomas is favored, else a strong background of practice in the specialty is needed
- · Applicants should have residency training completed in either of the following countries: in Canada, United States, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland OR South Africa.
- · Applicants must be eligible for registration and license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
