Got questions?

We get it; it’s an investment. Here are the A’s to your Q’s.

When's the best time for me to sign up for Guidance?

Getting a medical license in another country and finding a job takes time, so it’s always a good idea to start early.

Typically, Guidance works well for physicians looking to move abroad in the next 1-3 years. This gives you enough time to start the licensure process, learn a new language (if needed), and find a job.

You got this 🙌 – we’re here to help!

What about the cost?

Your investment is $649 for a new guidance session (for trainees, we offer. a discounted rate of $549). This is an investment for any physician looking to move abroad – and we respect your investment.

Here’s what one physician had to say about the guidance session:

“I was hesitant about the cost. But it’s been very helpful, and I would totally recommend it.”

Dr. A, Psychiatrist in New York

What are the credentials and experience of the person who'll be providing guidance?

The physician guides draw upon their personal experience and their experience guiding other physicians through the process. They’re dedicated to sharing what they’ve learned to make the process easier for you. They may also share their general experience with immigration and expat taxes. Importantly, they are not immigration experts or tax professionals.

Do the Guides fill out and submit the licensure paperwork on our behalf?

Our Guides can offer tips and tricks and helping you problem-solve. They will not complete the paperwork on your behalf.

When does the 30 days of email support start?

We provide a complementary 30 days of email support which starts after your guidance session. We also know that sometimes email just won’t do – that’s why we offer follow-up sessions when you need it!

What if I need more support as I go through the relocation process?

We got you!

Getting licensed, finding a job, and moving abroad does not happen overnight!  Most people will have questions that pop out throughout the relocation process.

That’s why we offer follow-up sessions when you need them. Just contact us and we’ll get it scheduled.

What if I'm moving to Australia or New Zealand?

We partnered with ExpatMD, a consulting company founded by Dr. Carmen Brown, that can help you transition to Australia or New Zealand. Mention Hippocratic Adventures for a 10% discount on their services.

They’ll help you navigate the medical licensing system, job search, interview preparation, application assistance for Board Certification, CV and cover letter writing, and relocation assistance. They are American doctors with over 10 years of experience living and working in Australia and New Zealand.

What if I'm moving to a country not listed here?

Contact us and let us know which country you wish you had a mentor for. We’ll see if we can find a match and bring them on board!

Do you offer advice in regards to immigration?

Our mentors can provide general information based on their experience with the immigration process. However, they are not immigration lawyers, so for more detailed questions, you’ll want to connect with an immigration lawyer or an immigration expert.

Do you offer guidance to NPs or PAs?

The regulations for physicians may be different from the rules and regulations for NPs and PAs. Because of this, we focus on guiding physicians since this is where we excel.
